Easter Weekend in St. George, April 9-12, 2009

Our Easter weekend began with a late drive down to St. George. We hit the sheets as soon as we arrived. On Friday we went out past Bloomington and shot skeet. Lauren and Erin shot targets with my dad's 22 pistol and rifle. I shot with my dad's 12 gauge shot gun. My dad manned the thrower and Travis and Garrett went between both guns. It was so much fun. Lauren and Erin both tried the shot gun, but it was too heavy and scared them a bit. After shooting, we headed to a Hawaiian grill (knock off of Rumbi's) We all had rice bowls and then donned swimsuits and headed to the pool. The outdoor pool was was beautiful and warm. We then went back to my dad's and BBQ's brats and cooked smores. Following dinner secured 5 different decks of cards and played Nertz until 2 am! This game is one of my favorites! We taught the kids and then kept playing and playing. Erin won once and it was fun to keep playing.

On Saturday we all slept until 10am. We then had breakfast and split up. Trav and Garrett went bowling, my dad wen to tai chi and me and the girls went Confessions of a Shopaholic, we then went shopping at the mall. Lauren bought cute flip flops and Erin bought 2 cute shirts. We then headed out to Pancho & Leftys for wonderful Mexican food. We all headed back to the pool for a soak in the hot tub and playing in the pool with the kids. Garett was diving for his white rubber braclet and scraped his lip on the botoom of the pool -ouch! Trav and I watched Australia and the kids watched the Tale of Desperaux. Very relaxing.

Sunday, we made Grandma Bonnie buttermilk pancakes and the kids opened their Easter baskets. We then went to Sacrament meeting in my dad's ward. After church I cooked an Easter feast. It included: ham, funeral pot., fruit, orzo pasta salad, rolls and watermelon. We then packed up and headed home around 4pm.

The weekend was relaxing, full of mostly good weather, and family!
