Today Travis and I met with Dr. Chandramouli for our appointment before treatment. Things are going well and the treatment has made the lump that I discovered on my shoulder blade practically disappear. The area is tender to the touch, but no longer visible or able to be felt. After week 12 I will have another PET scan to see how things are going. Hopefully everything is shrinking and being put into remission. While getting my blood drawn prior to receiving chemo Travis and I met our friend, Jen Fisher's parents. Her father is on his last treatment. We have the same doctor and it was nice to meet them. We wish him well and hope his cancer remains in remission too.
My friend Nanc met us in the chemo waiting room and traded placed with Trav so that he could head into work. Treatment was longer this time because it was time for added bone drug, Zometa. My doctor also prescribed Anzemet for nausea. It is to be taken in the evening of the first night after chemo. We were hoping that it would help me get through the night without vomiting. It worked! I am so grateful for good medicine to help me through this. Anyways, Nanc brought McDonalds breakfast and it hit the spot. We chatted, caught up, and enjoyed the morning together. Nanc and I have been friends since she hired me right out of high school as I began college. It seems so long ago, but also just like yesterday. It is great we still work together at RQ&N, love movies, love pizza benders from Italian Village and are life long friends.
My brother, Paul and his family came in town for the 4th of July and spent the week visiting family. His wife, Sara and their kids Molly & Zach tended Lauren and Ashton while I was at chemo all morning. I so appreciate her. My kids made cookies, did puzzles, played games and played in the the sprinklers. We miss them and have loved spending evenings together doing fireworks, making homemade tutti fruity ice cream, having water gun fights, and playing ultimate frisbee too. My dad was in town and we had Dave and Tam's family over too. Going through these hard times and having hard days really makes you appreciate you family near and far! We love you Shari, in Pennsylvania.

Even though we live so far away our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family daily. Please take care of yourself and I know from personal experience how great your neighborhood is at helping others through the hard times :) Please tell Ashton Hi from Z!
I'm so glad that the chemo seems to be working so well. We think of you all often and you are in our prayers. And remember--I'd love to be a chemo buddy when a spot opens up. :)
