It is hard to believe that after this treatment I only have 5 left before I'm in remission. It has been a weird week as far as how I've felt. I believe that my body is finally sick of being on chemo. A few weeks ago, when my doctor said that he was going to shorten my treatment, part of me freaked out. Most of you won't understand this feeling, but I feel like as long as I'm on chemo I'm "fighting" the cancer and it won't return. I really thought, "I'm tolerating this pretty well, I should just keep doing it the 24-26 weeks just for good measure." However, this week, chemo is starting to catch up with me. Mouth sore have developed, heart burn has intensified, and the worst part is my hair is thinning at an alarming rate now. It seems like a cruel joke to have it thin so much now - right near the end. I was advised in the beginning about the "cumulative" effect that chemo has on your body, and I'm definitely feeling it. I just hope and pray for the best and that my body can tolerate that last few treatments. My chemo buddy this week was Jodi Ryan. We became friends while living in West Valley 10+ years ago. She and her family live in Vernal now and she left before 6:00 am to come with me this chemo treatment. It was great to catch up with her and hear about her cute family.
